The CCPI is teaming up to deliver a statement on climate change

The Canadian Centre for Policy Ingenuity is working with Alcan Inc. to establish the Executive Forum on Climate Change. The initiative will engage the Canadian government and business community in a practical discussion on Climate Change, resulting in a statement from business to government in advance of the UN Climate Change Conference starting November 29th.
The Executive Forum on Climate Change kicked-off October 7th with a meeting between government and progressive Canadian businesses. Present at the meeting with Prime Minister, Paul Martin and Minister of the Environment, Stephane Dion were the following organizations:

After a constructive meeting, the CCPI will work with all of the organizations to develop a consensus statement with a focus on:
- Improving Canadian productivity while reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- Positioning Canada to compete in a low-carbon global economy; and
- Reinforcing elements deemed essential to any post-2012 regime, particularly those relating to the evolution of global carbon markets.
